Everything about recycled polyester

Polyester is a durable and strong fabric, ideal for daily use by professionals who place high demands on their work clothing. The material retains its shape, is easy to maintain and lasts a long time, even with intensive use. Recycled polyester is a sustainable alternative to traditional polyester. This way you combine reliable work clothing with a responsible choice for the environment, without compromising on quality or comfort.

What is recycled polyester?

Recycled polyester is produced by reusing existing materials. Instead of new raw materials, PET bottles, textile waste and other polyester products are reprocessed into strong, functional fibers. This reduces the demand for fossil raw materials and contributes to reducing plastic waste.
The material is lightweight, elastic and quick-drying and offers protection against wind and moisture: ideal for workwear that has to perform day in, day out.

GRS certified recycled polyester

At Tricorp we use GRS-certified (Global Recycled Standard) recycled polyester, such as High Vis T-shirt Redefined & Sweater Anorak RE2050. This certification guarantees that the recycled material is fully traceable and that every link in the chain meets strict requirements in terms of the environment, working conditions and chemical use. This way you can be sure that the material is not only recycled, but also produced in a responsible and transparent manner.

Difference between traditional and recycled polyester

The main difference is in the origin of the raw material. Traditional polyester is made from petroleum, a non-renewable fossil resource, which contributes to a higher environmental impact. In addition, dyeing new polyester often requires intensive dyes and chemical processes.

Recycled polyester uses existing materials, reduces CO₂ emissions and reduces plastic waste, while maintaining strength, wear resistance and functionality. This makes it a more sustainable alternative, without sacrificing performance: exactly what Tricorp stands for.
