Tricorp meets UPV obligations

Good news! As of July 1, 2023, Tricorp will comply with the UPV obligations!

The Extended Producer Responsibility (UPV) regulations stimulate sustainable production within the Dutch textile sector. This means: producing less waste and making more use of recycled textiles.

How does Tricorp respond to this? We opt for a collective, national approach. Together with more than 500 other companies, we have signed the provisional agreement with the UPV Textiel Foundation. As a result, 60% of all textiles entering the Dutch market are currently represented by the UPV regulations. The UPV Textiel Foundation is committed to achieving various goals. Those goals are divided into two parts:

By 2025:
50% reuse and recycling, of which:

  • At least 20% reuse and 30% recycling;
  • At least 10% reuse in the Netherlands;
  • At least 1/4 of the recycling concerns high-quality fiber-to-fiber recycling

By 2030:
75% reuse and recycling, of which:

  • At least 25% reuse and 50% recycling;
  • At least 15% reuse in the Netherlands;
  • At least 1/3 of the recycling concerns high-quality fiber-to-fiber recycling.
