Why the right standard matters for a yellow work jacket
Yellow (fluo) is widely worn by people who need to be visible at work, from road workers to warehouse staff. Which standard is needed depends on the work environment.
For work along national roads, RWS guidelines apply, combined with EN ISO 20471 class 2 or 3 for high visibility and EN 343 for protection against rain and wind. For industrial environments with risk of arc flash, welding or chemical exposure, there are multi-standard models that, alongside EN ISO 20471, also meet EN ISO 11612 (flame protection), EN 13034 (chemicals), IEC 61482 (arc flash) and EN 1149-5 (antistatic). The Reflective Redefined models meet EN 17353 class AB2 for visibility in low light.
All jackets meet EN ISO 13688, the general standard for protective workwear.
RWS and traffic marshal
For work along national roads there's the RWS Parka (403005) and RWS bomber Jacket (403006), both EN ISO 20471 class 3, and the RWS Softshell (403003). For traffic marshals there's the Traffic Marshall's Parka (403001) and Traffic Marshall's Softshell (403002), both class 2.
ISO 20471 bicolour jackets
The Bi-Color Parka, ISO 20471 (403004) and Bi-Color ISO 20471 Softshell (403007) meet class 2. Additionally there's the Parka High Vis Bicolor (403020), Softshell High Vis Bicolor (403021) and Midi Parka High Vis Bicolor (403023), also class 2.
Multi-standard jackets
For industrial environments with elevated risk there's the Parka Bicolor Multi-Standard (403009), Softshell Bicolor Multi-Standard (403011) and Jacket Multi-Standard Bicolor (403015). These models meet, alongside EN ISO 20471 class 2, also EN ISO 11612, EN 13034 type 6, IEC 61482 APC 1 and EN 1149-5.
Redefined, rain jackets and winter jackets
The Winter Jacket Ripstop High Vis Redefined (406107) and Rain Jacket Techshell High Vis Redefined (406108) meet EN ISO 20471 class 3, with EN 343 class 4:2:X and 4:4:X. The Hooded Softshell High Vis Redefined (406109) also meets class 3. The Hooded Softshell Reflective Redefined (406111) and the women's version Women's Hooded Softshell Reflective Redefined (406115) meet EN 17353 class AB2, as does the Winter Jacket Ripstop Reflective Redefined (406117). Bicolor jackets
The Softshell Bicolor Contrasting Seams (402021) and Hooded Softshell Accent (402705) are made in black-yellow without certification. The Winter Tech Shell Accent (402703) meets EN 343 class 3:2:X and EN 14058.
